Science Slam: Majda Černič Istenič

At the Science Slam on Thursday, 26 March, organised by Science on the Street (ZNC) and the University of Ljubljana (UL), Majda Černič Istenič, a researcher at the Sociomedical Institute at ZRC SAZU, gave a presentation titled “Smart Farm, Exhausted Farmer,” in which she discussed how digital technology on farms can lead to nighttime alarms, technostress, and exhaustion. In conclusion, she emphasised that a smart farm is not one that measures everything, but one that knows how to protect people, which is especially important as agriculture is losing its appeal as a profession.
