Policy Dialogue:

Mapping key stakeholders responsible for the agricultural safety and health system
Published on: March 7, 2025

The first meeting of the Slovenian Policy Dialogue took place on 7 March, 2025 at the premises of the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU). Representatives of recognised interest groups active in the field of occupational safety and health protection were invited, mainly decision-makers and other persons from the public sector, and also some members of the core group of the Slovenian Community of Practise.

The participants discussed the role of their own institution and other institutions in the national system for safety and health in agriculture. They focused on the current issues of safety and health management in agriculture: what organisational mechanisms already exist, who is involved in the debate and actions that lead to the existing measures, what are the obstacles and concerns, do stakeholders work together, what happens at an informal level, etc. The event contributed to a fruitful debate on the crucial influence of the public sector on health and safety in agriculture and raised the interest of the stakeholders present for further co-operation.
